Dark mode is on in trend next to notch display and folding
smartphones. So Google has been taking bit steps toward supporting dark mode.
In past, we have seen YouTube,
Phone, the Pixel Launcher, Google News, Contacts, Messages and some options of the Maps app
get a darker mode.
Google disappoint many people after
releasing Android 9.0 Pie update that are hoping the system-wide dark mode.
Google may fulfill this wish in the upcoming Android Q. It may realize that
darker colors can improve the battery life of O-LED panels and less retina-searing.
A Googler (Lukasz Zbylut) post on the
Chromium bug tracker states that:
Dark mode is an approved in Q feature The
Andriod Q team wants to ensure that all preloaded apps support dark mode
natively. In order to ship dark mode successfully, we need all User Interface elements
to be ideally themed dark.
Google also ensures that all pre-loaded
apps should get a dark. That will the same month when Google debuts the preview
of a new Android version to the developer.
It is expected that Dark Mode under
will be under Settings -> Display -> Dark Mode in Andriod Q.
Adding fuel to the fire, Google has
changed the permissions to the Google Chromium Bug Tracker, making it
inaccessible to ordinary users. But Android Police has collected the screenshot
and shows to the public.
Here is the screenshot.
